Time Stands Still

It seems like I get photos of buildings right before they are demolished! As I was shooting here, a car pulled over and the driver told me that the building was going to be torn down and a new office building was going to be put in it’s place. She told me that the new building would be very close to the original design. I am looking forward to shooting it when it is complete! I love expansion and growth! This is the 3rd building in the last year I have photographed that is no longer standing. Down with the old – up with the new!

Sky Line

This is a photo of “The Sky Condominiums” with the amazing “Stratosphere” as the backdrop. I took this photo as we sat at a red light as I lend out of the drivers window. It really gives the feeling of being there. In the action right from “The Strip”

“Trapped In Time”

I love the fall. There is so much for a photographer to look at, so many colors. We live on 35 acres with a wide range or land types. From a step cliff to a babbling brook even a few rolling hills. We have very thick forest and a few open fields. We are very lucky. In one area we have a old marshy spot. That is where this photo comes form in the shallow waters at the edge of this dead part of the forest. Where the beavers had lived so many years ago. They killed a few acres of forest and as it tries to grow back we get to enjoy small gifts like this.

A Lake and a Dam River

You can almost hear the water flowing. It makes me to happy to share the colors of the sky, and texture of the rocks and the wide view of the dam and the bridge. The Hoover Dam was built in the 1930′s. I can only imagine how much this view has changed over time. I enjoyed capturing this image and visiting this amazing place will forever be in my memory.

Time to Raise The Barn

When I look at this building I still can not believe that it was moved over 1 mile from were it was built nearly 100 years ago.  They had to have the power and phone companies lead and follow this massive building so that they could remove and replace all the street wiring on the trip. It was many years ago that is was moved and I wish I had a time machine to go back and take some photos on that day. Most of our little town turned out for the move. Lining the streets with chairs making it a neighborhood affair. I was so lucky to have to wait for the sand pit to free up with many people using it to sand their driveways.  The clouds were so awesome.  Madison Town hall photograph

School Daze

School Daze

I took this HDR image at a local school where my camera club meets.  I love how the colors just pop and contrast beautifully with one another. I couldn’t wait to get home to bring the magic of HDR to what I was seeing.  I hope to share the other versions soon of this shot soon!

The Seven Dwarfs

This old cabin is in the woods next to a small river. The inside was filled with beautiful chaos. It appeared as though someone was beginning to restore and rebuild, only to leave everything and never return back. The fall colors are such a nice contrast to the rustic property. The disheveled mystery of this place intrigued me and I loved crawling around and getting dirty trying to capture the perfect shot.

Desert Bridge

We took a day trip to the Hoover Dam one day. On the way we drove past it and missed it. I did turn around after a few mile and was glad I had missed the dam on the first pass.

When we did tune around we found a great little hiking spot more pictures to come from this great day. So after a short hike we were headed back to the dam and saw this rest area. I thought I should look over this small hill that was at the rest stop.  I headed up the hill looking around for anything and there it was. This bridge was just perfect and I loved bringing this in the post and edit it.

Life Is a Circus

“Life Is a Circus”  With all the time spent just to make it through a day, some days we just need to take a break. How do you relax? On a recent trip to Las Vegas we took a break by hitting some of the beautiful hotels.  I could not pass up a banner shot of the Circus Circus hotel in Las Vegas. If you ever find your self on this end of “the strip” it is worth a visit. The valet parking was so fast and easy. We were in our car within minutes of walking out.  I thought the acts were great and timed out nicely. Every fifteen to thirty minutes a new circus act. We say a clown ,the quick change artist and some aerial dancing. It was a great day with my son.

This Old House

This old house sits on the side of a back woods road in New Hampshire. It looks like someone had started to do some work on the home. BUt never finsihed. There is large excavator in the front yard with trees growing all around it.
