Why Backup Gear is Key for Wedding Photographers | New Hampshire Wedding Blog

The wedding ceremony was over. The food was served and the cake was cut. The dancing was winding down. We were about to leave the wedding. I walked over to a table that had the bride, groom the brides parents and two of her brothers. It was not some epic sunset photo, but I felt it was a great way to end the night. I asked for a photo before I left. I raised my camera pushed the shutter and… no flash. What!? I was just taking photos of people on the dance floor. I apologized and shared that I killed my batteries. I ran over to me gear case. I popped it open and grabbed a second flash gun. I traded the flashes and was back at the table within thirty seconds. So ya….have back up batteries and flash gear! It was embarrassing enough to have to change out the flash. I can only imagine how it would have felt fumbling around changing the batteries out. I am so glad that I brought a backup flash gun! It paid off to plan ahead.. just in case. #havebackupgear
