 From our first meeting to their wedding day embrace, I knew working with Vivi and Rob would be fun and relaxed. They chose Camp Cody in Freedom, New Hampshire, just a 20-minute drive south of North Conway. This lakeside venue offered on-site accommodations for guests. The sun was hot, but the lake kept the air refreshing. The camp provided ample space for a first look, a private pre-ceremony moment where the bride and groom share a special connection. As a photographer, I always discuss couples’ plans and explain why I love first looks, but I never push if they decline. Some brides are unfamiliar with the concept, and grooms often hesitate about extra photos, but after a chat, most come around. At Camp Cody, we found a quiet, wooded spot for Vivi and Rob’s first look. I instructed Rob not to turn until Vivi was ready. As she approached, I captured the anticipation—her soft words, his nervous laugh.
