Jon & Erin | A Winter Wedding at The Preserve at Chocorua

Some love stories begin in the most unexpected places. For Jon and Erin, it started at a snowshoe race — so when it came time to get married, a January wedding felt like the perfect way to bring their story full circle.

Set against the winter beauty of New Hampshire, their wedding at The Preserve at Chocorua in Tamworth, NH, was a wonderful celebration of two people whose connection began in the snow.

Jon and Erin exchanged vows in the venue’s Sap House, surrounded by family, friends, and the warm atmosphere of an intimate winter ceremony. Afterward, the celebration continued in the beautiful Hayford Barn, where rustic timber framing and a welcoming reception space made the perfect setting for an evening of dinner, dancing, and celebration.

One of my favorite parts of a winter wedding is taking advantage of the scenery after dark. We headed outside with Jon and Erin to create some dramatic nighttime portraits, using the Preserve’s beautiful grounds, architectural details, and outdoor spaces as backdrops. The contrast between the winter darkness and the warm lights of the venue gave us some truly memorable images.

We also made time to visit nearby Chocorua Lake, capturing a few portraits that showcased the natural beauty of the White Mountains. It's always worth taking a little time away from the festivities to create something unique, especially when the surrounding landscape is this beautiful.

Jon and Erin’s wedding was a great reminder that winter weddings have a character all their own. The season, the setting, and the story behind their relationship made this January celebration especially meaningful.

Congratulations to Jon and Erin! Thank you for letting me capture such a special chapter in your story.
