I was thrilled to photograph a wedding at Hammond Castle in Gloucester, MA—a photographer's dream venue. The bride, a natural on camera, had an engagement session with me in Boston the previous summer. Arriving early, I explored the castle grounds, testing my framing. I then went to Castle Manor Inn to capture the bride getting ready—her dress and flowers perfectly set up. At the ceremony, the harpist played as guests took their seats. I photographed the groom’s reaction to seeing his bride, then her walk down the aisle. She looked stunning, and they were soon married.
Next came a traditional tea ceremony—my first—made special by the couple’s guidance on what to capture, shared only with close family. The venue’s drawbridge, arches, ocean views, and stone steps were ideal for my wide shooting style. Using off-camera flash, I highlighted the couple in striking images. I’ve created a slideshow of the day’s best storytelling photos—hope you enjoy it! If you’re planning a Hammond Castle wedding, feel free to reach out with questions. I’d love to shoot there again.
