The Day After – Same Sex Marriage In NH |New Hampshire Wedding Photographer

They say timing is everything. This one was right on the money. The day after the Supreme Court made same sex marriage legal in all fifty U.S. states, I had the great fortune to be part of one. I had this wedding booked for sometime. The timing of the courts actions was just divine. It made their day even more special. The wedding was great. We started on time had a fifteen minute ceremony were both of the brides shared the vows they had written for each other. They were short and loving. Talking a bit about their time together so far on their journey. There was many smiles and looks back at the guests as if to let them all know they were important to the couple. The couple had chose to have a firsts look before the wedding. They had spent the early part of the day together with their wedding party. The only time they were apart was to put on their wedding dresses. I walked one bride to the meeting spot and had the other joins us ten minutes later. The second bride walked into the garden and down the steps to her sweetheart. I had her pause so I could capture a few photos of her by herself before they saw each other. Here are a few of my picks and favorite images of the first look for this beautiful same sex wedding.

Leading Lines To Freedom

PHOTO OF THE DAY- Leading Lines To Freedom

One more photo taken in Puerto Rico. This time we see this dirt road that follows the photographic term known as “leading lines” this effect draws the viewers eyes in and makes one wonder what is just beyond the view of sight. In this case what is even more intriguing is that at the end of this road we see the ocean adding to the mystery. I like this photo for a few reasons. One is that it beings me back to this day at Dirty Beach. This spot is about half way up the road form the beach and to an over look that you can see out to th open ocean on one side and back onto Dirty Beach on the other. I also love the colors. There is a few shades of green and as many of blues. You can see the gray in the sky the water and the grass. So much going on here. Please let me know what it is that you like about the photo. Welcome, Phoebe Isis! Newborn Sparkle Session ~ Joe Martin New Hampshire Photographer

This week we had the pleasure of meeting this little lady, Phoebe Isis. She was a beautiful soul and loved being in her Mama’s arms. We are proponents for attachment parenting and during our Newborn sessions we encourage mothers to nurse and hold their babies as much as possible. We have learned a lot in the short time that we have introduced our Newborn Photography Sparkle Session. We have learned the importance of having sessions with babies under two weeks old. Although Phoebe was a bit older, we enjoyed our time with her very much! Her parents took my wife, Dayna’s Natural Childbirth class back when they were pregnant with their first baby. Phoebe is their third child so we had a very special connection with this family, having seen their family begin. It was an honor to connect with them again, and give them the gift of beautiful photographs of their first daughter.
